To develop the health & safety vision,strategy, systems and policies for the Continental Africa Region (CAR) Growth Project Management Office (PMO) and provide specialist strategic and technical advice across the portfolio of projects in order to create and sustain a culture that puts the safety of our people first and achieves our safety goals. A vacancy exists within the Continental Africa Region's Planning & Business Development function for a Vice President: Business Development. The purpose of the role is to maintain an active database and understanding of all of the gold mining activity in Africa (excluding South Africa). The incumbent will be expected to maintain up-to-date valuations and develop an active network through regular site visits and industry related events.
A second and equally important function will be to develop and maintain a suite of Business Models for the Continental Africa Regional Office (CARO) that encompass both the cost and financial modeling requirements for the Studies that are undertaken, such that multiple scenarios can be analysed against the current life of mine (LOM) plans.

The purpose of the role is to build, develop a project team and lead the strategy to consolidate AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) project systems and processes ensuring consistency and best practice across the region. The role will be to oversee all brownfield and greenfield projects from approval to commissioning and handover. Furthermore the role will act as second in command to the Senior Vice President Projects and is tasked with realizing intrinsic value for all major capital deployment across the Region’s growth project portfolio. This role requires an experienced manager in large complex multidiscipline construction projects. The vacancy will have a strategic interface with the Executive Committee and AGA’s Investment Committee.

AngloGold Ashanti (AGA), a leading global gold mining company, is seeking applicants for the position of Vice-President: Sustainability to manage sustainability planning, implementation and reporting across the entire project life cycle. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the company’s sustainability strategy, including community development and environmental components, within one of AGA’s Continental Africa Region business units.
This will include leading and supporting the business unit and mine-based sustainability teams, as well as sharing lessons learned and best practice with other units in delivering on our vision “to be the leading mining company through sustainability innovation, integration and excellence”.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The overall purpose of this role is to lead the Project Services function and the Project Controls capability at the portfolio level to support the current growth strategy.
The Vice President Project Services holds responsibility and accountability for ensuring development of clear Project Services objectives, and that the project controls team develop, implement, and maintain integrated project controls systems, standards and processes; and provide support and expertise to project teams to ensure the successful delivery of programme outcomes.
